My favourite books are humours sci-fi/fantasy tales, from the likes of Robert Asprin, Terry Pratchett, Harry Harrison etc. I picked this book up and found it a compelling page turner with a few genuine laugh-out-loud moments. The writing style while compared to Douglas Adams in some circles is definitely not an attempt at toadying plagiarism. Terry Cooper has put together his own style with a healthy nod to Mr Adams... `Inspired by' does not necessarily equate to `Copy of'.If you have ever wanted to find out how a hair-dresser and a painter/decorator could end up on an alien planet fighting in nappies, falling in love with robots and putting an end to `Emos', then this is most definitely the book for you. With plenty of 70's and 80's references from TV, film and music it will have you having little nostalgia bursts during chapter breaks.I hear a sequel is being penned; I will be buying a copy the moment it's released...
