2010 has been a sensational year for the railway with many special events been held, the railway has seen a wide range of engines run across the picturesque moorland from Pickering to Whitby. The railway has seen some of the biggest steam engines running on its rails during 2010 including 'Tornado', 'Sir Nigel Gresley', 'Bittern' and others battling their hearts out up the challenging 1 in 49 gradient from Grosmont to Goathland. Our 2 Disc DVD takes you through a range of the events and many normal running days.

A series of events were held during 2010, the 27th March 2010 marked the re-opening of 'Bridge 30' a major project undertaken throughout the winter to replace the bridge, the occasion was marked by BR 4MT No.76079 and Class 24 D.5061 hauling the first passenger service over the bridge. May 2010 saw the railway's 'Spring Steam Gala' this year held over a period of 3 weekends which featured visiting engines LNER A4 No.60019 'Bittern', LNER N2 No.1744, LMS 5MT No.45407 and LMS 5MT No.44871. Full coverage from all 3 weekends and normal service days in-between are included on the DVD.
A series of normal running days throughout the summer are too included, May 2010 saw the first sole passenger service of newly overhauled LMS 5MT No.45428 from Grosmont to Pickering which is captured on the DVD. Footage is also included from both the 1960 Weekend and famous Wartime Weekend which saw the return of LNER A4 No.60007.
The Autumn Steam Gala was held during the first weekend of October and featured visiting engines Southern BoB No.34070, LNER J72 No.69023 and LNER A1 No.60163, a splendid weekend was put together utilising an S&D themed event which worked well alongside the beautiful autumn colours over the moors. A special freight charter using newly acquired BR 9F No.92214 was also held on the Friday morning of the gala, full coverage of the charter and event are included on the DVD.
2010 saw an increase in running over the Esk Valley Railway from Whitby to Battersby, special weekends in the Winter saw a series of trains to Battersby and over the evenings in the summer a special dining service would run, several of these trains were captured throughout the season.

As footage has been captured throughout the year, our DVD takes you through footage from all outlooks of the railway taking you through the breathtaking autumn colours of the moors, the bare, cool wintry scenes and the stunning greenery available throughout the spring and summer months.

Trackside footage is included on the DVD from the 92214 freight charter; footage is included from all walks of the 18 mile line including extra footage from the mainline to Whitby and Battersby.

The DVD lasts approx. 158 minutes and is available in PAL DVD 16:9 Widescreen format only. The DVD is priced at £14.96 which includes free P&P to all customers.
