The Winter steam 2010 DVD takes you through all our footage obtained during January and February 2010. As many will know Winter 2010 has been a rather different one than normal with colder and more snow opportunities than normal, our team have been out in force filming at every opportunity they've had. The DVD takes you through snow scenes from the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway, Tanfield Railway and Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
The Winter DVD takes you through some of the biggest events that kicked of the 2010 season some of which included the ‘Lostock and a few smoking barrels steam gala at the Great Central Railway which brought together a large selection of LMS engines together but also celebrated the steaming of newly overhauled ‘Jinty No.47406 which was the first time in preservation, it also saw the return of icon ‘Black 5 No.44767 ‘George Stephenson which has just been finished overhauled, the weekend was enjoyed by many with some superb clear blue skies and a variation of freight, express, travelling postal trains, local and normal passenger services, our DVD covers all the engines and a series of the above type of trains.
The East Lancashire Railway have held two steam galas throughout January and February, the first which celebrated the first passenger services of ‘Black 5 No. 44871 on a preserved railway which ran alongside visiting engines K4 No. 61994 ‘The Great Marquess and 8F No. 90733. The second steam gala was held during February which celebrated the return of icon 8P No. 71000 ‘Duke Of Gloucester which ran alongside visiting engines BR 7MT No. 70013 ‘Oliver Cromwell and Southern N15 No.30777 ‘Sir Lamiel.
Other footage is included from the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Winter Steam Gala, although only approx. 5 minutes are included as the rest is available on the Gala DVD. Footage is also included from the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway, Tanfield Railway, North Yorkshire Moors Railway and others.
