Wax Cylinders, also known as Phonograph Cylinders, or 'Edison Cylinders' (after their inventor, Thomas Edison) were a common way of listening to music from 1888, right up to the First World War, but fell out of a favour for the more robust discs including shellac and, later, vinyl records. The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing are responsible for one of the very few commercial releases on the format in over 90 years.
