The baskets are made by women from Singida in Tanzania using a type of grass called 'Nyasi'.
Currently the resource is limited due to draught. By paying a fair price, the women can save money and let the land rest for a short while and thus ensuring environmental sustainability.
The baskets are decorated by a group of MIKITA women from Dar es salaam who are looking forward to further cooperation opportunities both within Tanzania and internationally.
