Green Waters sustainability web shop was created in order to raise funds that will support the projects of Green Waters Foundation (www.green-waters.org).
About
Green Waters foundation was registered in 2007 in Rotterdam Kamer van Koophandel Rotterdam (Chamber of Commerce), Reg. no. 24417959. The main aim for the foundation was to promote gender equality for women in Africa. The first project to be created under the foundation in 2007 was project MIKITA.
MIKITA is a capacity building project that empowers women in Tanzania by sponsoring them to learn various skills at vocational training colleges within their areas.
We envision that economic empowerment is a step forward towards ensuring gender equality and reducing domestic abuse for women and children. We work together with training colleges in Tanzania as our main partners.
W.I.F.E.S - Winning Initiatives for environmental Sustainability was set up in 2009 with an aim to create sub-projects that ensures environmental sustainability by means of raising awareness and imparting knowledge.
Therefore, our main goal under W.I.F.E.S is to help people with knowledge and opportunities that they can use in order to reduce their ecological footprint.
The first project to be developed under W.I.F.E.S is creative recycling of household materials. We work together with local artists in Ijsselmonde-Rotterdam to implement this project for various target groups including school children, disabled and other interested parties within the community.
The idea is to teach community groups how to recycle their household materials in a way that they can be reused or as a means of earning an income by selling the artistic recycled product ''Turning crap into snap''
CHANCE - This project is meant to be a secondary school scholarship for orphans.
We are still gathering financial support.
