STCW Basic Training Revalidation
STCW Basic Training (BT) Revalidation (Formally called Basic Safety Training)
This Basic Safety Training revalidation course is approved by the NMC as follows
Any applicant who has successfully completed your Basic Training Revalidation (EXP LGU-718) course will satisfy the minimum standard of competence in personal survival techniques and fire prevention and firefighting of Table A-VII1-1 and Table A-VI/l-2 of the STCW Code, as amended, provided he or she has been previously certified per Section VIII of the STCW Code, as amended, and presents evidence of 1 year of sea service within the past 5 years.
Course Length: 8 hours
Examination: Complete the classroom portion, exam and competencies in the pool and fire tower
Fee: $750.00
Mandatory Requirements: for the Basic Safety Training Revalidation Certificate:
The mariner must:
Have previously attended STCW Basic Safety Training and have had the STCW endorsement on their MMC within the previous five (5) years.
Possess a valid Merchant Mariner Credential.
Have one year of sea service on seagoing U.S. Inspected vessels.
