While currently working on the soundtrack for a comic book called Hellbent, the release of the single "Django" comes with the illustrated story of how Hola Ghost, riding shotgun along the border between USA and Mexico, life and death and Rock and Roll.
Django is a numbered limited edition heavy vinyl 7 inch single, with the 16 pages comic book by the Danish writer Lars Kramhøft and artist Tom Christensen, who are also the team behind the comic book to be released later with the soundtrack by Hola Ghost.
The song Django was originially written by Tim Armstrong and the US punk rock band Rancid. It is also the contribution from Hola Ghost, to the Rancid tribute album Hooligans United, released in 2015 by Hellcat Records and Smelvis Records. The single is released as a 250 copies limited Record Store Day edition with permission by Smelvis Records and Hellcat Records, and will only be available as numbered heavy wight vinyl with comic booklet untill sold out.
"Django" and "The Bottom of the Well" is following the musical trail of Hola Ghost mix of Mexican death-surf, Mariachi Monster Rock and a solid reference to punk, surf, garage, and of course the Sandorff brothers past as members of the legendary danish psychobill act Nekromantix.
The single was recorded and mixed in Juicy Halftone Studios by Henrik Stendahl and Hola Ghost, with guests Julie Skov Nicolaisen and Maj Berit Guassora on trumpets and Mia "Mulo" Olsen (former keyboard player for Hola Ghost) on drums on The Bottom of the Well.
