This ad is to rebuild YOUR Volvo Penta AQ series upper gear unit.
The AQ series range from the following drives:
270 - 280
- 290
- 290A
- SP-A
- DP-A
- SP-C
- DP-C
- DP-C1
- DP-D
- DP-E
Included for this price is the following:
- Tear down and cleaning of units (I do not paint but places needing paint will be wheeled clean and be ready for paint)
- Magnifying lamp inspection of gear set.
- New U-joints (Only on 280, 290, 290A, DP-A). Replacement of newer model universal joints will require an additional $50 per universal joint. They retail at $160 each. Sierra aftermarket U/J's retail at $119 each.
- New drive gear bearings
- New seals
- High speed lapping of cone clutch assembly
- New Pretension sleeve. (DP-A and NEWER)
- Dial gauge and set reverse gear lash if required (shim no extra charge)
- Dial gauge and set forward gear set gear lash if required. (shims no extra charge)
- New vertical shaft needle bearings
- Set rolling torque to Volvo specifications.
- All work documented and photos uploaded to project page
- Return shipping is $42
- NEW GEAR set is an additional $1200.
Any hardware other than stated above is extra. Pictures and email correspondences should allow us to know what is needed in the unit.
