First Court in Christ's seen through the Great Gate with the Chapel and Masters Lodge is one of the most picturesque views in any Cambridge College. Darwin is given pride of place as a serious alumnus. I don't think the architects or builders of this delightful composition are known, I certainly couldn't find them, most probably they are Georgian remodelling of Tudor buildings. Lasdun did a very large stepped section set of undergraduate rooms in New Court, which work very well from the college side but have a dreadful relationship to King St. Professor Richardson also designed a couple of buildings at Christ's, he of Bracken House fame, and definitely only for the driest taste.
